Senior Linux Engineer (prevention of terrorism, insurgency and organised crime)

Our client is Czech cutting-edge research and development company specializing in providing security technology to governments around the world. They focus on the prevention of terrorism, insurgency and organized crime. (They can prevent terrorist attacks and, for example, detect and block mobile phones in prisons. The company is involved in both HW and SW development).

What You'll Be Doing

• Playing a senior role within the Linux Engineering team.
• Guiding architecture choices and technology selections.
• Coordinating the work of other team members.
• Ensuring the quality and reliability of Linux OS components and installers.
• Adapting Linux OS to new hardware components.
• Enhancing product flexibility, maintainability, stability, and security.

Your Skillset

To excel in this role, you should have:

• Good knowledge of Debian-based Linux systems such as Ubuntu.
• Experience with creating, installing, and maintaining Debian packages.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash and Python.
• At least 3 years of experience in a Linux system administrator role or similar position.
• Strong knowledge of networking (IPv4, IPv6), Linux File Systems (BTRFS, LVM), and Ansible.
• Nice to have: experience with PXE boot, LUKS disk encryption, Docker, and CI/CD processes like GitLab CI.
